Saw your comment... yes... adjusting how many and how frequently and via what pathways that one can get notified is critical. It's fun now, but would rapidly become annoying... and yes... auto marking notifications as read would be helpful.
And on top of that one may log in on multiple devices to the service, each of which will repeat the same push - so its like an avalanche of notifications.
Hmmm... I can reply to a comment, but it appears that I can't reply to your reply to my comment. I'm sure that there is a reason behind that. Probably to protect you from my endless testing babble... somehow, I thought that replies to reply or replies to replies would work.... but then we get to is this a tread / threaded discussion, or how many levels of hierarchy to support, etc... It's almost like a recursive function... until the comment thread is complete... but... people don't think like or work like computer code....
Yeah, this format is not meant to support reply-to-reply endlessly. Its 2 level. Post - Comment 1 - replies flattened. Comment 2 - replies flattened. All replies stack up chronologically. Like Github.
Hah... looks like it tried to do a notification, but my browser had notifications blocked for this site. I just enabled notifications for this site and will see what I get, with Chrome on Windows 11
Saw a notification about push notifications, and asking if I'd like to turn it on. I clicked the notification and had expected to be prompted with a "yes" or "no". The notification "disappeared". I'm assuming that by clicking it was interpreted as a "yes". I think being prompted to select yes or no would be a good option.
Anyway... we will see if my comment generates a notification for me.
Web Push notification is the world's most fiddly feature. The notification from MC is what is used to call the browser's permission popup. If THAT permission is given, only then the entire push notification setup is done. In your case, its possible that the permission was already pre-blocked due to your settings, and hence there was no way to proceed.

Need to enable other paths.
Need to make it work on Opera which for some reason is not.
Need to test on macOS.
Needs various usability improvements eg there are too many notifications - in-app + email + push (app and now new web). It may quickly become annoying. Need to auto "mark as read" in-app when one clicks on push notifications.

Here's a reply to test web push notification, which should pop up on your iphone. And if it does not then maybe its due to 2 things:

When can we get it turned on in HivedMusic and Veed.Network?
We will test and provide feedback and I'm sure that our community will let me know if something doesn't work :-)
